A beautiful and romantic piece of antique Royal Staffordshire English Pottery by A.J. Wilkinson. This Pink (or Red) transferware platter is in the June pattern and c1890. This pattern is scarce and this shape platter is almost impossible to find. It will go with any of your romantic decors including Victorian, French Country, Shabby Chic and Farmhouse. It will also make a gorgeous display when not in use. For 130+ years it has stood the test of time incredibly well and is ready for a new home to be proudly displayed.
The platter measures 11 1/2" L by 9 1/2" wide and has a shallow bowl standing 1 1/8" tall. The condition is Very Good for its age. There are no chips, cracks or flakes. The transfer of the roses is absolutely stunning, bright and clean. We see very light crazing with mild discoloration which we are mentioning for accuracy. This is very difficult to see upon inspection and will not be seen on display. We did an extreme up close with our camera macro lens for you to see. I give this is an 8.5 out 10 for condition on a very early piece of pottery and we are hard graders. We consider nothing antique or vintage to be perfect unless it is new from old stock. This Roses platter will not disappoint.
