c1920s Italian crafted budded crucifix in Ebony wood with polished nickel trim and wonderful brass accents. This crucifix is not over-sized and perfect for just about any space. It measures 6" X 3 1/4" (not including the round bale at the top) and has a 5/8" depth from the wall. The condition is Good. We see light wear to the wood but overall, it has been kept nicely for its age. The nickel is bright and fairly clean. It will polish up even brighter with some fine steel wool.
The INRI placard is made of brass as is I believe the halo around Jesus's head (but that appears to need a bit more TLC as well). The body of Jesus is polished nicely, and I see no rust, rot or damage to any of the nickel - just light surface oxidation on the back that will come off with the fine steel wool. We really try to leave items as we find them, many collectors specifically do not want us messing with finishes especially natural patina.
This a great piece to give for any of the Catholic Sacraments, Housewarming, Wedding, or a special Birthday Gift. Unisex in style. A really beautiful antique crucifix.
