An absolutely stunning Australian Opal and Diamond Cocktail ring set in 14k yellow gold. I wish our photos were better as this ring has a resting color of blue, green and hints of pink that just do not show up well in photos. It is a stunning display. This ring is a size 8.25 and can be resized to perfection by your local jewelry store.
Although it is set in yellow gold the setting is large and heavily accented in pave diamonds so it can easily be worn with your white gold pieces too. The front setting of the ring is convex and has a beautiful scalloped edge. It measures 3/4" across the front of the ring and has a 1/2" in height. The band measures 2mm at the back for a comfortable fit.
There are 8 pear shaped opals total. 4 of them are 5mm X 4.5mm X 2.5mm deep and 4 are a little smaller at 4mm X 3mm X 2mm. This gives you an estimated weight of 1.2 carats of opals. These opals have strong green and blue hues and unfortunately our camera did not do as great a job as we would have like to show there fantastic fire. They have a resting cast of a turquoise color - not white.
There are 24 set small diamonds around the edge and some pave work too small to measure. I calculate .12 carats in set diamonds and most likely another .10 in pave that is too small to measure.
The ring is marked 14k inside the band and has been safely tested to be so. The ring is also marked KN. This ring was purchased between 1990-1993 at a local fine jewelry stone and is a one owner item. It is in EXCELLENT pre-owned condition and will come plushly boxed for you or to gift.
