A beautiful piece of vintage blue decorated salt glazed stoneware from Germany. This 1960s Wick-Worke Wine Jug (Pitcher) will hold a full liter of you favorite drink. It has an abundant amount of relief work with a deep navy blue and cornflower blue accent glaze colors. This one owner estate piece is in Excellent condition. We see no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. The only thing to note is crazing without discoloration. This is typical for a piece of this age.
The wine jug has two raised cherubs holding a bunch of grapes at the center. There is a raised banner in German reading "Trink T Wie Eure Vater Aus Stein Den Wein" . This translates to "Drink wine from the stone(ware) as your father did".
The jug stands 8" tall X 6" across it's widest section. The inside is just as clean as the outside. The bottom has the appropriate vintage mark for Wick-Worke. This is a great pitcher for serving wine and will make a beautiful display piece when not in use. It will go well with your blue and white decor as well as any of your Old World style decors. A beautiful piece.
