An incredible piece of Vintage Navajo Native American jewelry from the 1970s. This pendant is LARGE measuring 4" in length by 2" at it's widest point with an incredible design. There is a dangling pendant that is hooked within the center of the main pendant.
The silver metalwork is superb with applied leaves, scroll work and beads. The silver is highly polished with the engraved features of the leaves and background being oxidized or darker. The turquoise gemstone on the top of the pendant measures 10mm X 11mm and the bottom piece of turquoise that is on the dangling pendant measures 14mm X 7mm. The stones are a deep shade of turquoise with nice veining.
The pendant is marked D.S. on the back. There are several vintage Navajo makers that use this mark and we do not want to mislabel the artists work so we have photographed for you make your own judgment on the artist. We do know this piece came out of New Mexico in the 1970s. It is a heavy piece weighing 37.1 grams (weight includes the stones). We have safely tested and guarantee it to be sterling silver. We hope the photos convey the incredible size and craftsmanship of this piece. We love the movement of the center of pendant that hangs off the main pendant. A simply gorgeous piece for the lover of fine vintage Native American Jewelry.
