This is thought to be one of the most important and first Renaissance treatise on meat carving. Cervio used a "fork in the air" technique to carving, instead of on a plate turning the removal of meat from bone into an aerial event. This was influential on the next several hundred years of carving and also contains substantial information on an attractive plate and banquets. This book has wonderful pictorial fold outs and is in the Metropolitan Museum's Thomas J. Watson Library rare book collection.

Cover - Has wraps over the top and shows soiling. Chipped at spine.
Other Condition - No missing or loose pages. All foldouts present. Text is easy to read. Evenly tanned with age spots throughout. Water mark cover and on top of first 12 pages or so. It is light and does not affect the text - it is at the top of one of the foldouts. No pages are stuck together. For over 400 years old remarkable condition.
