This large estate found Baltic Amber pendant is beautifully set in a sterling silver grape leaves and vine setting. The craftsmanship is stunning. This piece originates from Warsaw Poland and is roughly 40 years old. It has an Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts Style to it but will also be fantastic with Boho fashion.
The pendant measures 2" in length total including the bale. It measures 1 5/8" without the bale. The Amber is simply gorgeous, smooth and it has a few nice looking natural inclusions we hope you can see in our photos. The shape is somewhat triangular with the amber measuring 37mm in length (approx 1 3/8") by 18mm at it's widest point (approx 5/8") and a depth of 7mm. No flaws in the amber.
We only did a light hand polishing. If you wish the silver to be cleaner it will polish up brighter. There are several markings on this piece. It is marked 925 for sterling silver content in 2 places and we have safely tested it to be so. It is also marked with the Poland fineness mark for Sterling Silver (Diana's Head facing right with the letter "W" for Warsaw (Warszawa). There also appears to be a makers mark hard for us to make out looks like BC with a leaf beside it. There is not a lot of info for makers info in Poland. Maker is undetermined. Piece accurately dates to early 1980s.
