Historically Speaking 1742 - 1917 Taylor-Wharton Iron & Steel Company 175th Anniversary Booklet with extras. This antique booklet is complete and has great photos along with the history of this famed New Jersey company. Taylor-Wharton played a part in so many major industrial advances in the US including making cannon balls for George Washington to essential parts for the railroads, bridges, developed ways to transport liquid oxygen, provided cylinders for the Apollo space mission, and most recently with cryogenic tank manufacturing. This booklet measures about 12 1/4"L X 9 1/4" has a softbound cover and 52 pages. There is also a large fold out and letter included with the distribution of this booklet.
The booklet is in Fair to Good Condition. No missing or loose pages. There is wear to the edges of the cover. Light staining on the cover in spots not too bad we mention for accuracy. Inside is clean and readable but there is a light water stain at the center and bottom lower center of the pages where the booklet is stapled. We point this out in one of the photos. It does not affect the text, photos or drawings and there is NO ODOR.
The pages are filled with plant history and great photos and drawings of their manganese steel work. It shows some of their machinery and the items they produced for various industries. Also photos of the actual plants and the higher up plant personnel. Fantastic piece of US industrial history.
