Silver Filigree Three Graces Brooch Carnelian Italy c1940s Art Deco Style
1940s Filigree Silver Cameo Brooch of the The Three Graces crafted in Italy in the 1940s. This gorgeous vintage cameo brooch is carved from a beautiful slice of carnelian with some of the best colors I have seen. The top layer of the carving is a deep burgundy and white and the bottom layer which you can see at the back is a mustard yellow waxy color. We have taken several photos to show you this piece from every angle. It is stunning and the filigree wire and bead work is intricate.
This silver Italian brooch measures 2" long by 1.25" tall. The oval cameo measures 3/4" tall by 5/8" wide. Other than a slight bend in the pin, which still opens and closes perfectly, we see no other defects. There is a light patina on parts of the brooch. We did only a light hand polishing. If you wish to remove the patina, this will polish up nicely. We like the natural patina as it gives these old pieces depth and age. This brooch has a definite Art Deco style but can worn with several styles. It would beautiful on a wedding dress, jacket or blazer, blouse or scarf.
