Estate Art Deco era Blue Spinel and Diamond Ring in Platinum and 14k Gold. This extraordinary ring has a vivid natural blue spinel gemstone at it's center measuring 8mm X 8mm X 5mm (2.78 carat weight) and is surrounded by six diamonds totaling .30 carats on either side. The diamonds are in a beautiful platinum millegrain setting. This ring is a size 5.5 and be resized to perfection by your jeweler. (The norm with a band this size would be 2 sizes up or down).

The setting of this ring is done in Platinum (not just prongs but the entire front setting of the ring) and the band is done in a highly polished 14k yellow gold. We held off on putting this in our shop for weeks trying to read the maker's mark which is present but just too worn for us to make out. It looks like a KA but it is not clear enough for us to read. The ring is hallmarked 585 and PL for gold and platinum purity. These marks were also extremely worn and we could not get a photograph that was not blurry but with a 40X loupe can be seen. We have safely tested the setting to be Platinum and 14k as we do all of our fine metals.

Natural Blue Spinel stones in this vivid color are a RARE find and the cut of this gem is dazzling. As you can see in our photos it presents beautifully with magnificent faceting. In photos 5 and 8 we have magnified the stone to point out the flaws. As you can see from the first photos the flaws are not noticeable to the naked eye or on the hand. Under magnification you can see a few tiny flakes on the facets from age and wear. We note this for accuracy. The color and clarity of the blue spinel are superb we see no inclusions under 40X magnification. The diamonds are VS2 in Clarity and have tremendous H color.

Our model has it shown on her pinky due to the ring size but you can see the impressive beauty of this stone next to a 1 ct diamond and it is breathtaking. This is a magnificent example of fine estate Art Deco jewelry. A stunning piece for the one you love.
