This set of 6 antique French Enamel Victorian era buttons is a wonderful find for the button collector, jewelry maker or sewing collector. These period buttons are crafted of brass with the early type of eye on the back soldered with no feet seen. We date these to approximately 1860-70.
Each button in identical in size measuring 22.5mm long by 7.5mm wide. These would also be lovely on a romantic blouse or sweater. The condition is Fair to Good for 150-160 years old. You will see signs of wear from age but overall they have stood the test of time very well. We did not polish or over clean only wiped them down leaving any natural patina on the gilt. I think they will clean up even better with a little detail polishing.
