We found one!! This Gorham Silver 1897 Master Butter Knife in Sterling Silver is a rare find for the Meadow collector. Flatware for the Meadow service is nearly impossible to find and serving pieces like this butter knife are rarely seen. It is Monogrammed with the letter D and is in gorgeous condition for it's age.
This master butter knife has a heavy floral and vine pattern on both side covering nearly all of the handle with the exception of the space left for the monogram. As mention above, this piece has a monogram "D". We have heard of our clients getting monograms buffed out but we will leave that up to the buyer. The knife measures 7 3/4" in total length with a the cutting blade measuring 3" long. This piece is marked "Patended 1897" with the Gorham makers marks and the word "Sterling". It has a nice weight to it at 48.3 grams.
