1908 Lloyd's Rules for Building and Classification of Yachts Sail and Steam Illustrated Fold-Outs, Rare Antique Nautical Book
1908 Rules for the Building & Classification of Yachts by Lloyd's Register of Shipping, London England. This is a hard to find and highly collectible book for the sailing enthusiast or boat builder. We have several more rare books in our shop see link below this listing.
This book is entirely related to building and classifying yachts both steam and sail. The book is loaded with illustrations, and it has both of the original long pull-out tables toward the back. 134 numbered pages with an additional printed publisher page as last printed page. Book measures 9 1/2" X 7 1/2".
The book is hardcover with green cloth and gold stamped title on the front. The gold is bright. The book shows appropriate age wear but has not in my opinion been abused for being 114 years old. The corners are bumped, there are spots of fading on cover here and there but overall, it presents well. There are no missing or loose pages. The first few blank pages are heavily tanned as it is a different paper from the text paper. After the first title page the pages are evenly and lightly tanned. They can be easily read, and we see no rips, tears or intentional stains. No odors. The front hinge is cracked. As I mentioned above no loose or missing pages. I am going to take the time to list the table of contents, noting there is a much more descriptive index. I want to you to get an idea of everything that is covered in this book. It is really exceptional.
