This little Empire beauty of a footstool or ottoman was lovingly passed down through the same family for over 150 years. She is not perfect but incredibly charming and was reupholstered in floral brocade fabric in the 1980s that is timeless and will match just about any colors scheme.
The base wood is pine and it is veneered in flame mahogany. The ottoman is sturdy and it displays beautifully. There is expected age wear to the veneer seen only at the feet. There were several scratches that we covered with our Tibet Almond Stick (we highly recommend BTW). It is 150-160 year old piece of Empire furniture that was loved and enjoyed.
The brocade covering is in Good condition. It was covered in the 1980s. I spot cleaned the fabric it was nearly perfect but a saw a few spots I knew I get out so I removed them. There are no odors, rips or tears to the covering. I see no major wear just normal age wear. It presents well. Also keep in mind you can have this reupholstered in any type of fabric or color to match your decor. By touch it feels like the ottoman has it's original straw stuffing for cushioning and it is still plump.
The stool stands 10 3/4" tall to very top of cushion. It measures 17" X 12" on the foot rest. It is sturdy and well made.
