This antique silverplate cordial set by James Dixon and Sons is a handsome piece for your table or bar. It has a supberb Greek Revival style indicative of its 1840s age AND it will also go well with your Art Deco decors. The makers mark on this piece is a rare one and we note for the collectors.
These cordials were made by James Dixon and Sons sometime between 1842-1846. It was the only time they abbreviated the first name James to Jas. on any of their wares. Also of note on the makers mark has an oval cartouche between the two animals, is tilted in a different direction than on any of the marks we were able to find.
See our last photo for measurements. The cordials will hold 1.5-2 oz of your favorite dessert wines, liquors etc.
