Antique 14k Gold Sorority Pin Badge for Chi Omega with detachable Upsilon Alpha Chapter Pin. An exciting find for the antique sorority collector.
The main pin has the the Omega Symbol over the Chi Symbol. Engraved on the Omega symbol is a skull and cross bones, owl and the Greek Symbols for Rho Beta Upsilon Eta Sigma engraved with black enameling. This main pin measures 1/2" L X 1/2" W. The back is engraved '11 Marie Cashman TA. Attached to the horseshoe pin is a chapter pin with the Upsilon Alpha initials . This pin measures 5/16" X 3/16".
Both pins have their own fold over earlier safety catch. The chain that joins them is 2" in length and the smaller pin with chain can be removed from the larger pin. They have both been safely tested and are guaranteed to be 14k gold. The condition is excellent.
These antique Fraternal/Sorority badges are becoming more difficult find. Many of the chapters are no longer in existence or have changed. With chapters that do exist you rarely see finely crafted pieces of jewelry like this.
