Big beautiful piece of antique earthenware pottery from Teruel Spain. This large bowl has a magnificent Hispano-Moresque tin glaze done in green and dark brown (almost looks black). It is dated to at least 1860 and could be earlier.
This bowl is large measuring 12" across and standing 4 1/4" in height. Condition is Very Good+ for it's age. There is a minor loss of glaze at rim of bowl. There is a rough spot on outer edge of bowl see photo 7) There are two chips on ridge of the or lip of the bowl's base (see photos). The glaze has a few popped bubbles, normal for age and firing technique. We see a very fine tight hairline that will take you a minute to find - is not noticeable upon first inspection. Great looking from top to bottom.
