1875 Underwood and Underwood Stereograph Card with real photo of Ice Bridge Niagara Falls NY. The photo is credited to Charles Bierstadt and it is one of the best winter scenes. The snow banks are just about as tall as the two men. The bridge is completely impassible and the Falls in the background are frozen over. This looks like a familiar winter scene from my days in Upstate NY.
We note overall tanning and some age spots but for its 150 years or so it is a fine card for the collector or to display. We will have more Niagara NY and Niagara Falls Stereoview Cards coming this weekend.
This card is a slightly different size than most of the 20th century stereoscopic images we have seen. It measures 7" long X 4 1/4" tall. It will fit your standard stereoscopes.
