Vintage RHINESTONE Splendor!! The rhinestones are gorgeous and the brooch is beautifully crafted. This unsigned vintage dazzler is IMPRESSIVE in size measuring 3" in length by 2" in width with a 1/4" depth.
There are 13 large dark teal navette rhinestones measuring 14mm X 6mm. The navettes are in a sawtooth setting. A large chaton Aurora Borealis with a blue hue sit atop of the spray measuring 10mm. Layered sprays of 40 matching Aurora Borealis chatons, 5mm each are spread throughout the brooch. All of the stones are 4 prong set and the setting is done a shiny white metal. There is no wear to the setting or missing or loose stones. The stones are bright and clean. The Aurora Borealis stones give off a rainbow of colors!
The construction of the brooch is interesting. The back is entirely done in a rivet construction. This was done by a few US makers and more prominently by Austrian makers.
It has a fold over safety catch and the hinge plate moves about 1/4" in one direction. It does not flop around. It pivots on the rivet if you move it to the side. It does not affect the brooch and it was only attached by a single rivet it just has some give now from time. See last photo.
